WIB is an organisation devoted to supporting, educating and inspiring women in the board and action sports industry. It has online platforms where women can meet, interact and share ideas, promote projects and find like minded people.
WIB organizes an annual event where the attending women can personally meet each other, network, learn new skills and get inspired. WIB also organizes a networking lunch at ISPO to keep the community alive and give the attendees a chance to catch up and meet new people.
And finally, WIB promotes and encourages new projects, ideas, entrepreneurs and professionals in the sector. This organisation is runned entirely on a volunteer basis with the sole desire of making a positive impact on the action sports industry.
It all started in 2009 in the beautiful village of Saas Fee, Switzerland, when the founders Carmela Fleury and Daniela Meyer created an opportunity for women in the boardsports industry to meet, network, share resources and inspire each other to progress in work and life.
Since then, every year some of the most inspirational women in board and action sports, hail from all over Europe and America for few days of networking, learning and sharing in the annual WIB event and in the also annual WIB ISPO Lunch in the ISPO Munich tradeshow. From Saas Fee in Switzerland, to Biarrtiz in France and Barcelona in Spain.
Every year, this event is built and organised under a theme, the past themes have been: Change, how to achieve a goal, time to act, the female connection and Creation: the start of something new.
For the 201t events the theme will be “Community – the importance of working together”.
